After 16" of snow in the past week no chance of riding singletrack. But lots of fun out on the dirt roads with plenty of good climbing to be had. Decided to head across the Hudson and see if Perkins was plowed, it was closed to traffic but plowed and rideable to the top. I had Bear Mountain all to myself, home was about 37miles behind me as the crow flies in the photo.
A great day out on the bike!

Trading my Masterpiece for a work of art.
Despite the efforts of UPS to delay delivery several times, the latest change to the bike finally arrived. Swapping out my 330 straight Thomson Masterpiece for a 360mm layback Kent Eriksen. Now all I need are the new XTR pedals which are AWOL after being posted December 20th...

Training Day
First chance to get out for a proper ride on the new bike. The plan was dirt roads to Peekskill, then optimistically head down to the Old Croton Aquaduct to ride that back to the city. Too much snow there still so I tried for the North County Trail, cross-country skis required. So a road detour calling in to meet some friends who were sledding before picking my way carefully back to Hastings and a train in the fading daylight.
While perusing on some refreshments later that evening I appreciated the brewery name, it tasted pretty damn good too.
